Recently a committee set up by the country’s prime minister entrusted with task for looking at minority employment found that despite making up 14.7% of the population, Muslims only comprise a fraction of the workforce in many areas.



Rising unemployment and downtrodden condition among Muslims in India, according to a few, has its roots in the partition of India. According to this view point, Muslims who came to India after Partition were leaderless and they have never been organized in India.



However, the rise of Indian Muslim can not be ignored. India is having Abdul Kalam as its statehead and Azim Premji, is one of India’s richest man.

I don’t think so...partition was for those folks who did not believe in plurelism... It can be easilyt argued that Indian muslims are a lot better than they were 40 years ago. Like all communities, Indian muslims have to bear the responsibility of picking the right leaders to lead them towards knowledge and prosperity.
