I would say that you’re fairly wide of the mark with your interpretation. I seriously doubt that they’re trying to make any size comparisons! They’re showing Vaio illuminating the globe. Bringing you a world of knowledge and wonderment!!!
It looks to me like the work of a junior Art Director. The darkness is the giveaway - that’s the work of an amatuer; someone who thinks their work should be hanging in a museum (but in reality they’re a talent-free zone). There was no thinking behind this at all and boy, it really shows.
